Why is a strategic plan needed?

These core values are:

FELLOWSHIP AND GLOBAL UNDERSTANDING

  • We build lifelong relationships.

ETHICS AND INTEGRITY

  • We honor our commitments.

DIVERSITY

  • We connect diverse perspectives.

VOCATIONAL EXPERTISE, SERVICE, AND LEADERSHIP

  • We apply our leadership and expertise to solve social issues.

ROTARY CLUB OF BANG KHEN

WHERE ARE WE NOW?

To pursue a strategic plan we simply ask the following 3 questions:
1. Where are we?
2. Where do we want to go?
3. How will we get there? and when?

The Current Status of Rotary Club of Bang Khen

From standard Rotary Club Health Check Questionnaire, we had been diagnosed with the following health report.

Above graphic information demonstrates our extremely strong in the areas of LEADERSHIP, CLUB PROGRAM, and VENUE.  Rotary Club of Bang Khen has also comparatively high scores on SERVICE ACTIVITIES, FINANCE, BOARD MEETING, SOCIAL ACTIVITIES, and fair scores on BALANCE IN CLUB and MEMBERSHIP.  Anyhow, we are struggling hard on PR, FUND RAISING, and PLANNING which we are aware well of today.

SWOT ANALYSIS

With strong leadership, club programs, and unique club venue, Rotary Club of Bang Khen will continue to improve weaknesses in the area of planning, fund raising, and Public Relations, and we will make use of prevailing opportunities in both social media and growing community of Gen-Y whereas greater precaution will focus more on rapidly changing in economy and competition from both charity and service organizations.

WHY GEN-Y?
To sustain an organization such as Rotary club, we must place greater emphasis on powerful group of people who influence the future.  The Rotary Club of Bang Khen was born 33 years ago by our founder (CP Narong Chivangur) and group of his friends who are now father of Gen-Y, the generation of young people who is said to be influencing the world social and economy.

Children who were born between 1981-2000 are now called 'Gen Y' aged around 16-35.  Rising affluence and the power of digital technologies have given this group higher expectations than those of any generation seen before.  Around the world, a new generation of start-up businesses has likewise emerged, catering to the particular needs of these young people, who are well aware of the power of choice in their hands.

With their special characteristics, Rotary sees opportunities in their taking part in our organization bringing benefits to both world community and the organization.

WHERE DO WE WANT TO GO?
We have the potential, capacity, and we want to be in these 5 areas of focus:
1. Community Leadership Development Center.
2. Best Club in the District on Vocational Service
3. Highest MEMBERSHIP Proportion of GEN-Y in the District
4. Most EFFECTIVE Meeting Program in the District
5. Members take part in The Rotary Foundation Donation.
