In cooperation with Bang Khen District Office, Rotary club of Bang Khen celebrates it's 35th anniversary by procuring 100 'Water jasmine' plants to be further planted around the district sport stadium. Growing plants is part of the club's service project to combat climate change.

The Installation of 2018-19 CLUB Officers had taken place on Sunday July 8, 2018 at Rotary Club of Bang Khen's regular meeting place, The Centara Grand Central Plaza Laphrao with District Governor Nakarin and Past District Governor Chaivai jointly presided over the ceremony. The annual transitioning meeting welcomed more than 60 visiting Rotarians, community leaders, friends, and members of the family, as well as Rotary youth leaders.

สโมสรโรตารีบางเขนบริจาคน้ำดื่มแก่ประชาชนที่เดือดร้อนจากอุทกภัยในจังหวัดสุราษฏร์ธานีผ่านองค์การบริหารส่วนจังหวัดสุราษฎร์ธานี
Sunday 25th of December 2016, Rotary club of Bang Khen donated 12,000 bottles of drinking water to members of community in Surat Thani Province who had been suffered from flood.
น้ำดื่มจำนวน ๑๒,๐๐๐ ขวด (๖,๐๐๐ ลิตร) จากการบริจาคร่วมกันของสมาชิกสโมสรโรตารีบางเขน เพื่อผู้ประสบอุทกภัยในจังหวัดสุราษฎร์ธานี

6 ingredients for membership growth
One public event the club organized included a booth at a neighborhood festival.

Let’s admit it: achieving a high growth rate (negative or positive) is easier with a small club. Still, after more than five years of almost continuous decline in membership, my club was excited to report a 60 percent growth in membership from July to October. We had 18 members on 1 July. Now we have 29, with 11 new members inducted in the first trimester of the new Rotary year.
How did we do it? Let me share our recipe:
Ingredient 1: Less meetings, more service and public events. Rotary’s Council on Legislation has given a lot of freedom to clubs on how they organize their meetings. So we decided to reduce our regular meetings from four to two per month, which gives us more time for service work and organizing public events.
Ingredient 2: Better service opportunities. Many Rotarians are professionals and business leaders, yet most do not use their skills when they volunteer with their club. We changed that in our club by creating teams of Rotarians and non-Rotarians combining their skills to provide free advice to local nonprofits on the strategic issues they face. This is not only more interesting in terms of volunteer work, but it is also more impactful to create positive change in the community.
Ingredient 3: Lower cost. By the standards of Washington D.C., our membership dues are not very high, at $600 per year. But this is too much for many. So we created two new membership types – a membership at half the regular dues for young professionals under 35 years of age, and a spouse/partner membership at one third of the dues.
Ingredient 4: Stronger public image. We are organizing better and more regular public events. One of our recent events was a seminar at the World Bank with great speakers on education for peace and social change. That same week we also had a stand at the main festival in our neighborhood. In addition, we have been writing articles for a local blog, the local magazine for our neighborhood in Washington, D.C., and a free newspaper.
Ingredient 5: Strategic planning. We now have a strategic plan, our first since the club’s creation in 2003. The plan gives us a vision, and clear milestones and targets that we are trying to achieve.
Ingredient 6: Luck. Part of our gain in membership was just luck, as two new members transferred from other clubs due to changes in jobs and the location of their workplace. What’s great is that they bring with them a lot of experience in Rotary.
It remains to be seen whether we will continue on the path of membership growth for the rest of the year. We expect some members to relocate, so we will need to recruit more members to compensate. But we are making progress, and we have exciting initiatives coming up that should help us become better known in the community, make a larger difference for the less fortunate, and hopefully continue to grow.

His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the Royal Patron of Rotary Clubs in Thailand passed away on October 13, 2016 accroding to the Royal Household Bureau's announcement as following:
"King Bhumibol Adulyadej passed away at 3.52 pm at Siriraj Hospital, where he had been treated since October 3, 2014.
The team of physicians offered treatment to the best of their ability. But his illness did not ease and his condition worsened gradually. His Majesty the King passed away peacefully at 3.52 pm on October 13 in the 89th year of his life and 70 years in his throne."

In the Rotary world ,we grow up and have been learning 「Enter To Learn ,Go Forth To Service」,furthermore, we realize the meanings of 「He profits most who serves the best」. For a long time, C.P Narong always devoted himself in the Rotary fields with enthusiasm. His warm personality and hospitality impressed us so much, not only shortens the distance between Bangkhen Club and NHL Club br a large ,but also tie we two clubs to strive for the Rotary dreams.

In the summer of 1917, only a few months after the United States entered the first world war, Rotary held its eighth annual convention in Atlanta. Although many Rotarians at the time thought the convention should be canceled, the Board of Directors ultimately agreed with Paul Harris that it should continue as planned. In the midst of such uncertainty and fear, Harris penned, as part of his convention greeting, some of the most-quoted words in Rotary:
Individual effort when well directed can accomplish much, but the greatest good must necessarily come from the combined efforts of many men. Individual effort may be turned to individual needs but combined effort should be dedicated to the service of mankind. The power of combined effort knows no limitation.
Fittingly, it was at this convention that then-President Arch C. Klumph proposed a Rotary endowment fund “for the purpose of doing good in the world.” The power of combined effort was joined by a new power: that of combined resources. It was a combination that has proved unstoppable and has been behind so much of Rotary’s work for the last 100 years. Today, it is difficult to imagine Rotary without its Foundation. It was the Foundation that turned Rotary from an organization of local clubs into an international force for good with the power to change the world.
In this Rotary year, we are marking the centennial of our Rotary Foundation in the city where it all began: Atlanta. Our 108th Rotary International Convention promises to be one of the most exciting yet, with inspiring speakers, great entertainment, and a wide array of breakout sessions to help you move your Rotary service forward. And of course, we’ll be celebrating the Foundation’s centennial in style.
Whether you’re a regular convention goer, haven’t been to one in a few years, or haven’t yet attended your first, the 2017 convention will be the one you won’t want to miss. Atlanta is a great destination in its own right, with great food, friendly people, and many local attractions to enjoy. But the real reason to come to the convention is always the convention itself, and the people, ideas, inspiration, and friendship you’ll find there. 6 ingredients for membership growth
One public event the club organized included a booth at a neighborhood festival.

Let’s admit it: achieving a high growth rate (negative or positive) is easier with a small club. Still, after more than five years of almost continuous decline in membership, my club was excited to report a 60 percent growth in membership from July to October. We had 18 members on 1 July. Now we have 29, with 11 new members inducted in the first trimester of the new Rotary year.
How did we do it? Let me share our recipe:
Ingredient 1: Less meetings, more service and public events. Rotary’s Council on Legislation has given a lot of freedom to clubs on how they organize their meetings. So we decided to reduce our regular meetings from four to two per month, which gives us more time for service work and organizing public events.
Ingredient 2: Better service opportunities. Many Rotarians are professionals and business leaders, yet most do not use their skills when they volunteer with their club. We changed that in our club by creating teams of Rotarians and non-Rotarians combining their skills to provide free advice to local nonprofits on the strategic issues they face. This is not only more interesting in terms of volunteer work, but it is also more impactful to create positive change in the community.
Ingredient 3: Lower cost. By the standards of Washington D.C., our membership dues are not very high, at $600 per year. But this is too much for many. So we created two new membership types – a membership at half the regular dues for young professionals under 35 years of age, and a spouse/partner membership at one third of the dues.
Ingredient 4: Stronger public image. We are organizing better and more regular public events. One of our recent events was a seminar at the World Bank with great speakers on education for peace and social change. That same week we also had a stand at the main festival in our neighborhood. In addition, we have been writing articles for a local blog, the local magazine for our neighborhood in Washington, D.C., and a free newspaper.
Ingredient 5: Strategic planning. We now have a strategic plan, our first since the club’s creation in 2003. The plan gives us a vision, and clear milestones and targets that we are trying to achieve.
Ingredient 6: Luck. Part of our gain in membership was just luck, as two new members transferred from other clubs due to changes in jobs and the location of their workplace. What’s great is that they bring with them a lot of experience in Rotary.
It remains to be seen whether we will continue on the path of membership growth for the rest of the year. We expect some members to relocate, so we will need to recruit more members to compensate. But we are making progress, and we have exciting initiatives coming up that should help us become better known in the community, make a larger difference for the less fortunate, and hopefully continue to grow.

His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the Royal Patron of Rotary Clubs in Thailand passed away on October 13, 2016 accroding to the Royal Household Bureau's announcement as following:
"King Bhumibol Adulyadej passed away at 3.52 pm at Siriraj Hospital, where he had been treated since October 3, 2014.
The team of physicians offered treatment to the best of their ability. But his illness did not ease and his condition worsened gradually. His Majesty the King passed away peacefully at 3.52 pm on October 13 in the 89th year of his life and 70 years in his throne."

In the summer of 1917, only a few months after the United States entered the first world war, Rotary held its eighth annual convention in Atlanta. Although many Rotarians at the time thought the convention should be canceled, the Board of Directors ultimately agreed with Paul Harris that it should continue as planned. In the midst of such uncertainty and fear, Harris penned, as part of his convention greeting, some of the most-quoted words in Rotary:
Individual effort when well directed can accomplish much, but the greatest good must necessarily come from the combined efforts of many men. Individual effort may be turned to individual needs but combined effort should be dedicated to the service of mankind. The power of combined effort knows no limitation.
Fittingly, it was at this convention that then-President Arch C. Klumph proposed a Rotary endowment fund “for the purpose of doing good in the world.” The power of combined effort was joined by a new power: that of combined resources. It was a combination that has proved unstoppable and has been behind so much of Rotary’s work for the last 100 years. Today, it is difficult to imagine Rotary without its Foundation. It was the Foundation that turned Rotary from an organization of local clubs into an international force for good with the power to change the world.
In this Rotary year, we are marking the centennial of our Rotary Foundation in the city where it all began: Atlanta. Our 108th Rotary International Convention promises to be one of the most exciting yet, with inspiring speakers, great entertainment, and a wide array of breakout sessions to help you move your Rotary service forward. And of course, we’ll be celebrating the Foundation’s centennial in style.
Whether you’re a regular convention goer, haven’t been to one in a few years, or haven’t yet attended your first, the 2017 convention will be the one you won’t want to miss. Atlanta is a great destination in its own right, with great food, friendly people, and many local attractions to enjoy. ROTARY MEMBERS LINK LOVE OF BEER, CLEAN WATER CRISIS
When you sit down to enjoy a beer, you probably don't spend a lot of time thinking about one of its main ingredients – water. Or the fact that 3,000 children die each day from diseases caused by unsafe water.
A group of innovative Rotarians aren't just thinking; they're doing something about it.
Their group, Beers Rotarians Enjoy Worldwide (BREW), has organized events around the world and is working to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for Rotary's global water, sanitation, and hygiene efforts.
"By drinking a beer, I can help bring fresh water to a village in Africa," says Steven Lack, a member of the Rotary Club of Pleasant Hill, California, USA. "If you can drink beer and some of the money goes to doing good in the world, that is something you can feel good about."
Fellowships like BREW are Rotary's way of bringing together members who share a particular passion. Rotarian Action Groups unite members who have expertise in a specific service area. The beer fellowship's leaders realized that joining forces with an action group dedicated to providing access to clean water would create a sum larger than the two parts.
"Beer and water have a natural affinity; you need water to brew beer" says Moses Aryee, past president of the Rotary Club of Accra-West, Ghana, and co-chair of the beer fellowship. "Our vision is a global approach to fresh water around the world, because beer is around the world."
The fellowship members are working with the Water and Sanitation Rotarian Action Group to identify specific water projects to support by funneling 25 percent of the fellowship's dues to those projects, says Lack, the fellowship's vice chair.
The members also plan to approach major brewers on each continent to seek financial support for water projects, much as the nonprofit Water.org is receiving $1.2 million from Stella Artois.
These projects have the potential to improve people's quality of life in several ways. Every day, 8,000 people die of waterborne disease. In addition, women in many parts of the world spend hours a day fetching water, time they could spend caring for their families, generating income, or making other contributions to society.
"We are very enthusiastic about the opportunities to work together," says F. Ronald Denham, a past chair of the Water and Sanitation Action Group and a member of the Rotary Club of Toronto Eglinton, in Ontario, Canada. "On our side, we can present and describe the projects. BREW will establish relationships with the breweries. And some of the members are senior executives in breweries. It's a wonderful synergy."

A BLUEPRINT FOR FUNDRAISING
Lack and Aryee founded the beer fellowship in 2014 after reaching the same conclusion at roughly the same time: Beer is fun and promotes fellowship, both of which make Rotary more appealing. And by bringing together people who share an interest in beer, you can unite them for the purpose of doing good.
"We're always talking about making Rotary fun," says Lack. "When people drink beer, they are socializing. It's one of those things that brings us together, that makes us equal."
In addition to working with the action group, the fellowship promotes the idea of good times and service by helping clubs organize beer festivals. These events appeal to younger people, raise money for club projects, and are easy to plan. According to Lack, all you need is to:
- Approach a microbrewery or two to donate beer
- Bring food or secure a food truck
- Line up a band
- Pitch a tent
"Microbrewing has become a huge industry, and this is definitely a way to capitalize on the popularity of that," notes Lack, who emphasizes that these fests aren't about getting drunk. The events typically last only a few hours and distribute small sampling cups that hold only four to six ounces. And standing in line limits the amount of time that people have to drink.
The State of Jefferson Brew Fest in Dunsmuir, California, attracts 1,500 people every August and last year netted $15,000 for club projects, says John Poston, a member of the Dunsmuir Rotary Club. It's been so successful, the club added a home-brew competition and cornhole tournament this year, and plans to expand the event to two days next year. Other growing festivals include the Weed Brew Fest in California and Brew on the Bay in Key Largo, Florida. The beer fellowship promotes a list of brew fests sponsored by Rotary clubs.
Lack and Aryee founded the beer fellowship in 2014 after reaching the same conclusion at roughly the same time: Beer is fun and promotes fellowship, both of which make Rotary more appealing. And by bringing together people who share an interest in beer, you can unite them for the purpose of doing good.
"We're always talking about making Rotary fun," says Lack. "When people drink beer, they are socializing. It's one of those things that brings us together, that makes us equal."
In addition to working with the action group, the fellowship promotes the idea of good times and service by helping clubs organize beer festivals. These events appeal to younger people, raise money for club projects, and are easy to plan. According to Lack, all you need is to:
- Approach a microbrewery or two to donate beer
- Bring food or secure a food truck
- Line up a band
- Pitch a tent
"Microbrewing has become a huge industry, and this is definitely a way to capitalize on the popularity of that," notes Lack, who emphasizes that these fests aren't about getting drunk. The events typically last only a few hours and distribute small sampling cups that hold only four to six ounces. And standing in line limits the amount of time that people have to drink.
The State of Jefferson Brew Fest in Dunsmuir, California, attracts 1,500 people every August and last year netted $15,000 for club projects, says John Poston, a member of the Dunsmuir Rotary Club. It's been so successful, the club added a home-brew competition and cornhole tournament this year, and plans to expand the event to two days next year. Other growing festivals include the Weed Brew Fest in California and Brew on the Bay in Key Largo, Florida. The beer fellowship promotes a list of brew fests sponsored by Rotary clubs.
GOOD FOR CLUB MORALE
When Lenie Jordan, president of the Rotary Club of Franklin, North Carolina, and part owner of his town's microbrewery, heard about the fellowship, he got 20 members of the club to sign up.
"It has been a point of interest for many of our members, and an opportunity to come together in a more casual environment," says Jordan. "I would attribute at least one new member to the fellowship. She attended one of our field trips and said she wanted to join. It's had a positive effect both on membership, and on general morale."
The fellowship's interest in beer gives members an opportunity to share insights and to learn on an international scale. For instance, members recently heard how the composition of water can determine the type of beer an area is famous for. According to All About Beer magazine, Dublin became known for its darker beers because of its water's high alkaline content. Since yeast doesn't perform as well with high alkalinity, brewers gradually discovered they got better results by roasting the barley, which both lowers the alkaline level and makes a darker beer. Similarly, the soft water in the Czech town of Pilsen made it ideal for the world's first pilsners.
Another useful fact: Beer has historically provided a safe drinking alternative when clean water is in short supply, because of the boiling step in the brewing process.
"We've all been to places where we wouldn't drink the water," says Lack, but where "they make a heck of a beer."
In May, more than 60 members of the fellowship, including beer lovers from Russia, South America, Australia, Japan, India, Europe, Africa, and North America, gathered at the Devil's Door Brew Pub in Seoul during Rotary's annual convention, to sample what was on tap and to socialize. Lack says plans are in the works for a brewery tour every night in Atlanta, Georgia, during Rotary's 2017 convention.
"There are all kinds of microbreweries around the city, some owned by Rotary members," he says. "We're also looking to be able to pour beer in our booth (in the House of Friendship). You lose some credibility as a beer fellowship if you aren't pouring beer."

The 2016-17 Nominating Committee for President of Rotary International has unanimously nominated Samuel Frobisher Owori, of the Rotary Club of Kampala, Uganda, to be the president of Rotary International in 2018-19. He will be declared the president-nominee on 1 October if no challenging candidates have been suggested.
Owori says he sees in Rotary "an incredible passion to make a difference." As president, he plans to "harness that enthusiasm and pride so that every project becomes the engine of peace and prosperity."
Owori's chief concerns as a Rotary leader are membership and extension. Since he served as district governor, the number of clubs in Uganda has swelled from nine to 89. He urges past, present, and future leaders to work together to engage more women, youth program participants, alumni, and community members to increase Rotary's membership in the coming years.
"There are many places which need Rotary and numerous potential members who have never been invited," he says. "The problem is Rotarians who got in and closed the doors."
Owori is chief executive officer of the Institute of Corporate Governance of Uganda. Before that, he was executive director of the African Development Bank, managing director of Uganda Commercial Bank Ltd., and director of Uganda Development Bank. He has studied law, employment relations, business management, corporate resources management, microfinance, and marketing at institutions in England, Japan, Switzerland, Tanzania, and the United States, including Harvard Business School.
Since becoming a member in 1978, Owori has served Rotary as regional Rotary Foundation coordinator, regional RI membership coordinator, and RI Representative to the United Nations Environment Program and UN-Habitat. He has been a member or chair of several committees, including the International PolioPlus Committee, the Drug Abuse Prevention Task Force, and the Audit Committee. Most recently, Owori served as trustee of The Rotary Foundation, chair of The Rotary Foundation's Finance Committee, and a member of the Investment Committee. Owori is a Benefactor of The Rotary Foundation, and he and his wife, Norah, are Major Donors and Paul Harris Fellows.

สวัสดีครับมวลมิตรโรแทเรียนที่รักทุกท่าน.
งาน "เปิดโลกสู่อินเตอร์แรคท์" เมื่อวันเสาร์ที่ 6 ส.ค. ที่ผ่านมานั้น ดำเนินการจัดขึ้น เพื่อแนะนำการถ่ายทอดงาน อบรมการบำเพ็ญประโยชน์กับโรงเรียนและชุมชนกับการสร้างมิตรภาพระหว่างสโมสรอินเตอร์แรคท์ด้วยกันเป็นไปด้วยดี ขอชมเชย ผชภ. บุญเลิศและผู้เกี่ยวข้องอื่นเป็นอย่างมาก
การสัมมนาของคณะกรรมการภาพลักษณ์และการ สื่อสาร (PI หรือเดิม PR) ในหัวข้อ "ภาพลักษณ์ดี...โรตารีเกื้อกูลฯ" ในวันเสาร์ที่ 6 ส.ค. ที่ผ่านมาเช่นกัน ถือว่าจัดสัมมนาได้ดีมาก และขอขอบคุณ ท่านวิทยากร ผู้จัดการสัมมนา คณะกรรมการภาพลักษณ์ฯ นำโดยท่านประธานฯ สุพรรณ และผู้เข้าร่วมสัมมนาทั้ง 200 คน มีความท้าทายและการต้องบริหารความเปลี่ยนแปลงหลายอย่างแต่เชื่อว่าด้วยมิตรภาพและความร่วมมือระหว่างสโมสรกับภาค กับผู้มีส่วนร่วมอื่นๆ รวมถึงสื่อมวลชน พวกเราจะยังคงเดินหน้าพัฒนาภาพลักษณ์โรตารีต่อไปได้เพื่อความยั่งยืนของโครงการบริการ และการเติบโตของสมาชิกภาพ
ประเทศไทยได้รับเกียรติให้เป็นเจ้าภาพสำหรับการจัดฝึกอบรมผู้ว่าการภาคในโซน6B, 7A, 10B) โดย ประธานในการจัดงาน คือ อดีตผู้ว่าการภาคชัยรัตน์ จัดประชุมคณะกรรมการงาน โรตารี อินสตีติวส์ 2016 ขึ้น เมื่อวันเสาร์ที่ 6 สิงหาคม ที่ผ่านมา
โครงการเยาวชนแลกเปลี่ยน (YE) ของโรตารี ได้จัดสัมมนา 3 ประสานคือ (โรตารี,นักเรียน, โรงเรียน) ณ วันอาทิตย์ที่ 31 กรกฎาคมที่ผ่านมา น่าภูมิใจที่เริ่มเห็นนักเรียนไทยมุ่งหน้าไป เช่นเดียวกับนักเรียนจากต่างประเทศกันแล้ว
ภารกิจผู้ว่าการภาคเยี่ยมสโมสร สัปดาห์นี้ ครอบคลุม 13 สโมสร คือ -

Dear Fellow Rotarians,
Interact D 3350 Workshop: “Unveiling the World of Interact”on Sat, Aug 6 to ensure smooth handover of annual rotation, and advocate their interacting with related community on service projects, and among them went well. Thump up for AG Boonlertand all key supporters.
Annual District Public Image (PI or formerly PR) Seminar “From Image, to Rotary Serving Humanity” on Sat, Aug 6 well done. Thank speakers, panelists, PI Committee led by Chair Supan, and 200 participants. Challenges & change management needed, but with fellowship & collaborations between Clubs & Committee, and partnership with external stakeholders incl media, we will continue to strengthen Rotary image to ensure sustainability of service projects and membership.
Thailand is Host Organization for the annual Rotary Institute (a training assembly for DGEs in Zone 6B, 7A, 10B). Chaired by PDG Chairat, a 2016 Bangkok Rotary Institute Organizing Committee Meeting was held on Sat, Aug 6.
Rotary Youth Exchange Program ran a triangle seminar (Rotary, Students, Schools)on Sun, Jul 31. We started to see Thai students heading, as well as the inbound students.
DG visits this week covered 13 RCs - on Aug 1: RC of Tharua & RC of Pranakorn SriAyutthaya / Tue, Aug 2 : RC of Bangkok Rattanakosin & RC of Bangkok Pattanakarn/ Wed Aug 3: RC of Chaopraya Nakorn Sawan, RC of Nakorn Sawan & RC of Siquare / Thu Aug 4: RC of Nongbua, RC Chum Saeng, RC of Nongbua & RC Chum Saeng in Nakorn Sawan, and RC of Phraphuttabat Saraburi / Fri 5, Aug: RC of Prasrisuriyothai & RC of Bang Pa-in in Ayutthaya) / Sun, Aug 7: the 23rd Club visited so far, RC Kasemrat Klongtoei, in a 5th Anniversary Blue Night Theme to raise fund for medical devices project.
The SWOT analysis showed job done well esp. on community service projects, but more emphasis needed on the external Public Image to create a good partnership between the local authorities, Rotary Clubs,community & local business enterprises. This will attract more potential members into Rotary and increase contribution.
Pls join Inter City No. 1 – the 1st (of 4) gathering of Club Presidents, AGs, District Committees, relevant Rotarians to quarterly catch up, share experience/ practices/problems & solution, update things & priorities on Sat, Aug 20. President Pong is the organizer.

Dear Fellow Rotarians,
August is the month of Membership for Rotary. This is one of the most important agenda for Rotary. Rotary will need to give our customers - The Rotarian a good customer experience, in order to develop loyal advocates for Rotary. With great fellowship, individual integrity and diversity in age, gender & our profession, Rotary will serve humanity with our product - genuine Humanitarian Services to our communities.
Let's focus on existing members retention and new members attraction. Strengthening our clubs with good fellowship, attractive program, activities and genuine service projects to engage our members and change as many lives as we can, in order to be a Gift to the World.
New Clubs Development is also important, as we will be able to spread our wings to the remote areas that do not have Rotary Club yet. This will give more Good people the opportunity for "Doing Good in the World".
I have started my Governor Visit and to date, I will cover 11 clubs. I can see the enthusiasm of each club to serve humanity and have given my guidance on effective club services, the importance of external public image and partnership.
I have ended my week with a meaningful home visit to a less privilege child - born paralyze at Nongchok. Thanks to RC Kasemraj Klongtoey, lead by P. Kittiwat, AG Prasann & CP Supin, as well as Spring News, lead by PP Ayamun. This is a good & genuine community service, as well as great partnership and external public
image for Rotary.
For those clubs, who have yet to submit your SWOT & Club Plans, please do so as soon as possible and looking forward to meet you in the coming weeks.

เดือนสิงหาคม เป็นเดือนแห่งสมาชิกในปฏิทินโรตารี นี่เป็นหนึ่งในวาระการประชุมที่สำคัญที่สุดสำหรับโรตารี ซึ่งโรตารีมีความต้องการเพิ่มสมาชิกใหม่ – นั่นคือ โรแทเรียนที่มีประสบการณ์ที่ดี เพื่อนำมาต่อยอดในการพัฒนาและสร้างความภักดีให้กับโรตารีด้วยการเป็นมหามิตรที่ดี มีความพร้อมในแต่ละด้านและความหลากหลายในอายุเพศและอาชีพของเราโรตารีจะสามารถเกื้อกูลเพื่อนมนุษย์ ด้วยจุดเด่นของโรตารี – พร้อมทั้งบริการด้านการบำเพ็ญประโยชน์อย่างแท้จริงเพื่อชุมชนของเรา

การพัฒนาสโมสรใหม่ยังเป็นอีกหนึ่งความสำคัญที่เราจะสามารถที่จะสยายปีกของเราไปยังพื้นที่ห่างไกลที่ไม่ได้มีสโมสรโรตารีเลย นี้จะเป็นการช่วยให้เพิ่มคนดีมากขึ้นสำหรับโอกาสในการ "สร้างสิ่งที่ดีให้แก่โลก"
ผมได้เริ่มต้นการทำหน้าที่ผู้ว่าการภาคเยี่ยมสโมสรและจนถึงปัจจุบัน ผมได้ทำหน้าที่เยี่ยมสโมสรมาแล้วทั้งสิ้น 11 สโมสร ผมมองเห็นความกระตือรือร้น ของแต่ละสโมสรที่จะให้บริการเพื่อนมนุษย์ และได้ให้คำแนะนำเกี่ยวกับการบริการอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพแก่สโมสรพร้อมกับให้ความสำคัญในเรื่องภาพลักษณ์ภายนอกและคู่มิตร
ผมสิ้นสุดภารกิจในสัปดาห์นี้อย่างมีความหมายกับการเยี่ยมบ้านเด็กด้อยโอกาส – เป็นอัมพาตที่เขตหนองจอก ขอขอบคุณที่ โรตารีเกษมราษฎร์คลองเตย ซึ่งนำโดยท่านนายกกิตติวัฒน์, ผชภ ประสาธน์ และนยก.สุพินพร้อมกับข่าวสปริงนิวส์นำโดย อน.อัยมัญช์ นี่คือสิ่งที่เยี่ยมที่สุด ในการบำเพ็ญประโยชน์ให้กับชุมชนอย่างแท้จริง ในขณะเดียวกันก็จะได้พบกับคู่มิตรที่ดีและได้ภาพลักษณ์ภายนอกสำหรับโรตารีอีกด้วย
สำหรับสโมสรที่ยังไม่ได้ส่งการแผนวิเคราะห์และแผนสโมสรมาให้ กรุณาดำเนินการให้เร็วที่สุดเท่าที่เป็นไปได้นะครับ และผมรอคอยที่จะได้พบคุณในสัปดาห์ที่ต่อๆไปที่จะมาถึงนี้ครับ

The 2016-17 Nominating Committee for President of Rotary International has unanimously nominated Samuel Frobisher Owori, of the Rotary Club of Kampala, Uganda, to be the president of Rotary International in 2018-19. He will be declared the president-nominee on 1 October if no challenging candidates have been suggested.
Owori says he sees in Rotary "an incredible passion to make a difference." As president, he plans to "harness that enthusiasm and pride so that every project becomes the engine of peace and prosperity."
Owori's chief concerns as a Rotary leader are membership and extension. Since he served as district governor, the number of clubs in Uganda has swelled from nine to 89. He urges past, present, and future leaders to work together to engage more women, youth program participants, alumni, and community members to increase Rotary's membership in the coming years.
"There are many places which need Rotary and numerous potential members who have never been invited," he says. "The problem is Rotarians who got in and closed the doors."
Owori is chief executive officer of the Institute of Corporate Governance of Uganda. Before that, he was executive director of the African Development Bank, managing director of Uganda Commercial Bank Ltd., and director of Uganda Development Bank. He has studied law, employment relations, business management, corporate resources management, microfinance, and marketing at institutions in England, Japan, Switzerland, Tanzania, and the United States, including Harvard Business School.
Since becoming a member in 1978, Owori has served Rotary as regional Rotary Foundation coordinator, regional RI membership coordinator, and RI Representative to the United Nations Environment Program and UN-Habitat. He has been a member or chair of several committees, including the International PolioPlus Committee, the Drug Abuse Prevention Task Force, and the Audit Committee. Most recently, Owori served as trustee of The Rotary Foundation, chair of The Rotary Foundation's Finance Committee, and a member of the Investment Committee. Owori is a Benefactor of The Rotary Foundation, and he and his wife, Norah, are Major Donors and Paul Harris Fellows.

สวัสดีครับมวลมิตรโรแทเรียนที่รักทุกท่าน.
งาน "เปิดโลกสู่อินเตอร์แรคท์" เมื่อวันเสาร์ที่ 6 ส.ค. ที่ผ่านมานั้น ดำเนินการจัดขึ้น เพื่อแนะนำการถ่ายทอดงาน อบรมการบำเพ็ญประโยชน์กับโรงเรียนและชุมชนกับการสร้างมิตรภาพระหว่างสโมสรอินเตอร์แรคท์ด้วยกันเป็นไปด้วยดี ขอชมเชย ผชภ. บุญเลิศและผู้เกี่ยวข้องอื่นเป็นอย่างมาก
การสัมมนาของคณะกรรมการภาพลักษณ์และการ สื่อสาร (PI หรือเดิม PR) ในหัวข้อ "ภาพลักษณ์ดี...โรตารีเกื้อกูลฯ" ในวันเสาร์ที่ 6 ส.ค. ที่ผ่านมาเช่นกัน ถือว่าจัดสัมมนาได้ดีมาก และขอขอบคุณ ท่านวิทยากร ผู้จัดการสัมมนา คณะกรรมการภาพลักษณ์ฯ นำโดยท่านประธานฯ สุพรรณ และผู้เข้าร่วมสัมมนาทั้ง 200 คน มีความท้าทายและการต้องบริหารความเปลี่ยนแปลงหลายอย่างแต่เชื่อว่าด้วยมิตรภาพและความร่วมมือระหว่างสโมสรกับภาค กับผู้มีส่วนร่วมอื่นๆ รวมถึงสื่อมวลชน พวกเราจะยังคงเดินหน้าพัฒนาภาพลักษณ์โรตารีต่อไปได้เพื่อความยั่งยืนของโครงการบริการ และการเติบโตของสมาชิกภาพ
ประเทศไทยได้รับเกียรติให้เป็นเจ้าภาพสำหรับการจัดฝึกอบรมผู้ว่าการภาคในโซน6B, 7A, 10B) โดย ประธานในการจัดงาน คือ อดีตผู้ว่าการภาคชัยรัตน์ จัดประชุมคณะกรรมการงาน โรตารี อินสตีติวส์ 2016 ขึ้น เมื่อวันเสาร์ที่ 6 สิงหาคม ที่ผ่านมา
โครงการเยาวชนแลกเปลี่ยน (YE) ของโรตารี ได้จัดสัมมนา 3 ประสานคือ (โรตารี,นักเรียน, โรงเรียน) ณ วันอาทิตย์ที่ 31 กรกฎาคมที่ผ่านมา น่าภูมิใจที่เริ่มเห็นนักเรียนไทยมุ่งหน้าไป เช่นเดียวกับนักเรียนจากต่างประเทศกันแล้ว
ภารกิจผู้ว่าการภาคเยี่ยมสโมสร สัปดาห์นี้ ครอบคลุม 13 สโมสร คือ -
- จันทร์ที่ 1 สิงหาคม : สร ท่าเรือและ สร พระนครศรีอยุธยา /

Interact D 3350 Workshop: “Unveiling the World of Interact”on Sat, Aug 6 to ensure smooth handover of annual rotation, and advocate their interacting with related community on service projects, and among them went well. Thump up for AG Boonlertand all key supporters.
Annual District Public Image (PI or formerly PR) Seminar “From Image, to Rotary Serving Humanity” on Sat, Aug 6 well done. Thank speakers, panelists, PI Committee led by Chair Supan, and 200 participants. Challenges & change management needed, but with fellowship & collaborations between Clubs & Committee, and partnership with external stakeholders incl media, we will continue to strengthen Rotary image to ensure sustainability of service projects and membership.
Thailand is Host Organization for the annual Rotary Institute (a training assembly for DGEs in Zone 6B, 7A, 10B). Chaired by PDG Chairat, a 2016 Bangkok Rotary Institute Organizing Committee Meeting was held on Sat, Aug 6.
Rotary Youth Exchange Program ran a triangle seminar (Rotary, Students, Schools)on Sun, Jul 31. We started to see Thai students heading, as well as the inbound students.
DG visits this week covered 13 RCs - on Aug 1: RC of Tharua & RC of Pranakorn SriAyutthaya / Tue, Aug 2 : RC of Bangkok Rattanakosin & RC of Bangkok Pattanakarn/ Wed Aug 3: RC of Chaopraya Nakorn Sawan, RC of Nakorn Sawan & RC of Siquare / Thu Aug 4: RC of Nongbua, RC Chum Saeng, RC of Nongbua & RC Chum Saeng in Nakorn Sawan, and RC of Phraphuttabat Saraburi / Fri 5, Aug: RC of Prasrisuriyothai & RC of Bang Pa-in in Ayutthaya) / Sun, Aug 7: the 23rd Club visited so far, RC Kasemrat Klongtoei, in a 5th Anniversary Blue Night Theme to raise fund for medical devices project.
The SWOT analysis showed job done well esp. on community service projects, but more emphasis needed on the external Public Image to create a good partnership between the local authorities, Rotary Clubs,community & local business enterprises. This will attract more potential members into Rotary and increase contribution.
Pls join Inter City No. 1 – the 1st (of 4) gathering of Club Presidents, AGs, District Committees, relevant Rotarians to quarterly catch up, share experience/ practices/problems & solution, update things & priorities on Sat, Aug 20. President Pong is the organizer.

Dear Fellow Rotarians,
August is the month of Membership for Rotary. This is one of the most important agenda for Rotary. Rotary will need to give our customers - The Rotarian a good customer experience, in order to develop loyal advocates for Rotary. With great fellowship, individual integrity and diversity in age, gender & our profession, Rotary will serve humanity with our product - genuine Humanitarian Services to our communities.
Let's focus on existing members retention and new members attraction. Strengthening our clubs with good fellowship, attractive program, activities and genuine service projects to engage our members and change as many lives as we can, in order to be a Gift to the World.
New Clubs Development is also important, as we will be able to spread our wings to the remote areas that do not have Rotary Club yet. This will give more Good people the opportunity for "Doing Good in the World".
I have started my Governor Visit and to date, I will cover 11 clubs. I can see the enthusiasm of each club to serve humanity and have given my guidance on effective club services, the importance of external public image and partnership.
I have ended my week with a meaningful home visit to a less privilege child - born paralyze at Nongchok. Thanks to RC Kasemraj Klongtoey, lead by P. Kittiwat, AG Prasann & CP Supin, as well as Spring News, lead by PP Ayamun. This is a good & genuine community service, as well as great partnership and external public
image for Rotary.
For those clubs, who have yet to submit your SWOT & Club Plans, please do so as soon as possible and looking forward to meet you in the coming weeks.

ผมได้เริ่มต้นการทำหน้าที่ผู้ว่าการภาคเยี่ยมสโมสรและจนถึงปัจจุบัน ผมได้ทำหน้าที่เยี่ยมสโมสรมาแล้วทั้งสิ้น 11 สโมสร ผมมองเห็นความกระตือรือร้น ของแต่ละสโมสรที่จะให้บริการเพื่อนมนุษย์ และได้ให้คำแนะนำเกี่ยวกับการบริการอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพแก่สโมสรพร้อมกับให้ความสำคัญในเรื่องภาพลักษณ์ภายนอกและคู่มิตร
ผมสิ้นสุดภารกิจในสัปดาห์นี้อย่างมีความหมายกับการเยี่ยมบ้านเด็กด้อยโอกาส – เป็นอัมพาตที่เขตหนองจอก ขอขอบคุณที่ โรตารีเกษมราษฎร์คลองเตย ซึ่งนำโดยท่านนายกกิตติวัฒน์, ผชภ ประสาธน์ และนยก.สุพินพร้อมกับข่าวสปริงนิวส์นำโดย อน.อัยมัญช์ นี่คือสิ่งที่เยี่ยมที่สุด ในการบำเพ็ญประโยชน์ให้กับชุมชนอย่างแท้จริง ในขณะเดียวกันก็จะได้พบกับคู่มิตรที่ดีและได้ภาพลักษณ์ภายนอกสำหรับโรตารีอีกด้วย

Time flies. We, All Stars TEAM leaders, would have completed 1 full month by end of this week. This leaves us with just 11more months to “Doing Good in the World”. Let’s move on together as a T E A M.
Last week was full of joy and excitement over the past activities and prep for the upcomings. It however ended with sadness for the loss of the loved one. I was honored to inaugurate RC of Bangkok Yannawa where up to 5 new members were inducted. The initial contribution of US$ 16,000 to the Annual Fund was also committed. The Governor’s Club Visit which kicked off last week saw me with RC of Bangkok Benjasiri. From their great Club Plan, we’re very proud to add them to a vibrant club list, and very glad to hear they plan to charter a new RC in Hanoi, Vietnam.
On the list this week are RC of Dusit / RC of Bkk Ratchadapisek / RC of Srapathum/RC of Bkk Suwanabhum/ RC of Bkk Nawamin/ RC of Buengkum / RC of Charoen Nakorn / RC of Bkk
Kluaynamthai, whose Club Plan already provided, except 3 Clubs to send me asap. Continuity and sustainability to Serving Humanity relies very much uponmembership. Thanks to DGN Nakarin, Chair of Membership Development, for organizing the seminar, PDG Prawit & allgreat trainers, the SAA Team for yourcontribution, and 240 members for active participation. Lets’ together achieve our Goal towards 4,000 Rotarians by 30 June 2017 (from 2,910 on My Rotary in spite of the actual 3,000 - pls update yourfigure immediately). Another target is to organize 40 new clubs (we have now 107) by 30 June 2017.
Another key factor to sustainability is Rotary Public Image. I’d like to urge all leaders to join “From Good Public Image To RotaryServing Humanity” Seminar to be held by D3350 Public Image Committee on Sat, Aug 6, at Panyapiwat Institute of Management (PIM). Thank PP Phornvit Phacharintanakul, PIM Vice President-Academic Affairs, ex-member of RC of Patumwan, to kindly accommodate us. All Clubs are reminded to pay RI dues & District Levy by 31 Jul 2016.
Last night, D3550 mourned the loss of the beloved mother of AG Vallada, RC of Bangkhen, & chaired a praying ceremony of the night. At Rotary, like 2nd Home, weshare joy & sorrow (We Love, We Care, We Share). May the strength be with AG Vallada

AFRICA REACHS IMPORTANT POLIO MILESTONE

Today marks a significant milestone for Africa in its effort to eradicate polio from the continent. A full year has passed since Africa’s last reported case caused by the wild poliovirus.
Somalia was the last country to identify a new case, which occurred on 11 August 2014. While Africa has achieved an important public health milestone, the job is not yet finished. To end polio forever, all countries – both endemic and non-endemic – must strengthen routine immunization, address gaps in disease surveillance and do more to reach children who are still being missed by vaccinators.
“We cannot wind down our efforts now. We need to continue immunizing until the last country is certified polio-free, and thereafter,” says Dr. Tunji Funsho, chair of Rotary’s Nigeria PolioPlus Committee. “As long as the virus remains anywhere in the world, it is only a plane ride away.”
Rotary members have played a key role in the eradication effort. They have led the way in raising funds, advocating for government support, building awareness, and mobilizing volunteers on the ground.
“The work of Rotary and the Global Polio Eradication Initiative has also cut through the clichéd narrative of Africa as the land of poverty, disease, and conflict,” says RI General Secretary John Hewko. “Real human development has been achieved despite the toughest obstacles and despite the opinion of many who thought we could not eradicate this disease in Africa.”
Strong continued support toward polio eradication in these final years of the campaign is the best way to ensure that today’s milestone will indeed mark the last case of polio in Africa, says Michael McGovern, chair of Rotary’s International PolioPlus Committee.
“Rotary members have many opportunities to make a difference, including being part of history as we seek a polio-free world,” McGovern says. “Members have led the way in fundraising and lining up volunteer support for polio eradication.”
Through 2018, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is matching 2-to-1 every dollar that Rotary commits for polio, up to $35 million a year.
