on "THE SIAMESE FIGHTING FISH RESEARCH"
ปลากัดไทยนับว่าเป็นพันธ์ปลาที่มีความงดงามมากที่สุดในโลกสายพันธ์หนึ่ง ดังนั้นการเลี้ยงปลากัดในเชิงธุรกิจจึงเน้นที่ความงามวิจิตรตระการตา โดยธรรมชาติแล้วปลากัดเป็นสัตว์น้ำที่มีความก้าวร้าว และอาจเลี้ยงให้มีความก้าวร้าวรุนแรงขนาดที่เมื่อนำปลากัดตัวผู้สองตัวมาไว้ด้วยกันจะกัดกันจนตาย แต่หากเลี้ยงเพื่อความสวยงามแล้วก็จะสามารถสร้างสรรค์พันธ์ที่มีความงามที่เกินจินตนาการ และไม่มีพันธ์ปลาใดจะเทียบได้ทั้งสีสรรและรูปร่าง ด้วยเหตุนี้ปลากัดที่มีความงามระดับโลกจึงมีค่าตัวซื้อขายกันเป็นหลักล้านบาท
Dr. Bhinyo Panijpan, a biophysicist working in Mahidol University recently received a prestigious Asian award in chemistry. A graduate of the University of Queensland (BSc. Hons) and University of London King’s College (PhD) he has dedicated himself to scientific and science education research, publishing about 130 papers in peer-reviewed international journals. His current interest is in the fighting fish of the Genus Betta which includes the Siamese fighting fish.
